About Me

I was Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Throughout my childhood, thanks to my mothers love of road trips and camping, I developed an appreciation for wildlife and my natural surroundings. I would often sit for hours sketching the unique characteristics and charm of an old tree, boldly colored flower, or other subject. I learned at an early age what a unique gift it was to be able to capture on paper what so many of us felt but could not express. Years of artistic expression made it clear that my life would be centered upon my passion for art. After high school, I attended the Minneapolis College of Art and Design where I discovered a love for Illustration and earned my BFA. I am now a professional artist and teacher. I enjoy working with students of all ages from diverse backgrounds. In my classes I stress the importance of process over product. I encourage students to try new things and "see what happens". I am currently living in Saint Paul with my husband Chris, my sons Quincy, and Cedric, and Cooper(our chocolate lab). Visit my website to see examples of my artwork.
